Limbo...this game looks very intersting and something that GameSalad could mimic

Just thought I'd share this cool game video someone just sent me. I love the use of the 'darkness' to set the mood, what looks like good platform gameplay mixed excellent audio..

It seems like something similar (similar not exactly the same) could be acheived with GameSalad.

Anyway..I thought I'd share it as it inspires me to get cracking on with my own games..

Enjoy...

That is one of the best games, I have been loving it for some time now.

I don't think it has anything to do with the engine in this games case. the game is great because of the dev and the details they put into it.

I think you could do it.

Think you'll need joints to make something like this. But that coming in the next update?
Great game. I have it on my 360.

It has joints, poly detection and some nifty memory management that would reduce the amount of work, complication and pre-rendered animation that you would have to put into getting this game. The actual look is wonderful and the gameplay is great. If you used GS to build something with this look you would have to soften the images within the graphics files and i am not sure if they did it that way or used a shader within the engine. Within the next few months all but the shader should be available to us, then it's just the imagination and work...

    That is pretty darn cool!
Looks like a lot of work, like Kipper said. But hey, who knows, Gamesalad might come out with a awesome update :-)

Yea, I've taken a long look at this game. The psychological impact it has and the emotion of the game is also something that has made it very successful. Games that can really move people emotionally and make them question things (like the afterlife) are always very successful.

I would love to do something like this in GameSalad, that would be awesome!

Its a real shame the steam version isn't available for Mac......

Could install it on my dear ladies Dell PC to play it...but I really don't like her laptop on Windows Vista or Steam really...

Hmm...ah...well I'll wait for the mac version...

Sorry if its seen as off topic but I think it's stunning. I ve been wondering about using puppets for sprite art and this thing just fired up what might be done. Enjoy.

sorry about sharing the vid John...and I look forward to seeing the shots..

On a up beat note...I found a .dmg version of the game that runs beautifully on my works mac. Not sure why its available when I can't find the game on Steam or the mac app store... either way...very happy and will play on the way home tonight on the train... oh and no it was not a torrent or anything...seems to be available in quite a few places.

And @Kipper very cool...reminds me of the Peugeot tv ads in the Uk. (cool looking puppets running around in the real world)...at least I think it was for Peugeot.

Here is a logistical question about a project this size

At the beginning of th year I was making and XBLIG game that was roughly 100 levels. I had to can it because the upgrade to XNA 4.0 broke my game.

I was thinking about remaking the game for the mac app store. The game is about 2/3s the length of limbo. I have two questions.

    1. How much could I reasonably charge for this?
    2. If I release to the mac app store does that ruin my chances of getting on steam?
