I like the name, but in my opinion it's important to match your story with your art style. A dramatic story needs dramatic art... you have this really dramatic backstory combined with some silly art and I think that will send mixed signals to users.

I agree, The story is cool, but you might wanna re-think the graphics.

I love the title... but I am going to be brutally honest the art stops it from ever getting close to being a hit... I know you spent a lot of time on it and it's a great effort but It's inconsistent, looks childish in places and just does not match the theme of the story...

[just a quick mock to set the mood]
  • As mentioned above , I think you should reconsider the graphics/ art style of the game . The story line seems to be great though :)

I use CorelDraw for most of my art - working with simple vector shapes and then importing them into PhotoPaint - Corel's alternative to Adobe's PhotoShop - and arranging and tweaking there.

There are ways to compensate for your improving artskills by chosing a style that is easier to create eg. through blured, darkened and grunged images like these:

By creating simple shapes [eg. triangles for the trees, circles and deformed circles for the insects] you can create clean and minimalistic graphics that work as long as the overall feel is right and the player is drawn into your game...

I added a grunge textured ontop of the coloured background to take away from the clean vector art....

One of the main things to keep in mind is consistency in your art. Find a style and stick to it - using 3D effects, Photoshop filters, doodle style and cranyon drawings in one game just results in a messy look and feel that is generally perceived as non-professional....
