Problem with Animate behavior: I can't copy&paste

Hello,

I'm working on new update of my game "The Police Story" with Gamesalad 0.9.71.
So far, in previous Gamesalad versions, I could copy, paste, etc. images into Animate Behaviour. I created bucles very easy (into animate behaviour, for example: image1, image2, image3, image2, image1).
But now with this version, I can't :-(

I try to drag images into the created animate behaviour, copy, paste, etc. And it's impossible. I need

Have you this problem?? What can I do?

Thanks,
Dani.

I have this problem too sometimes. A restart of gs creator helps in my case.
My guess is it is a memory (leak) issue.

It is a real problem. I find I can sometimes do one cut and paste and then it all goes horrible. It's been like this for the last 2 or 3 versions. Alt drag is messed up as well.

Perhaps try to delete the animation behavior, restart and then do it again.
Sorry, I don't know exactly but I got it working in one of these ways.
Mostly it works for a while but after a while I get the problem again too.

    Hi Dani

strange, but I've no problem with dragging stuff:

if you select all of your animation frames in a desktop folder and drag them into the Rules section, not only will it automatically put all of the images in the Images well, but also automatically make an animation behavior with the images in it (i.e no need to drag an Animate behavior across first).

The same with dragging images from the Images well into the rules area: the animate behavior is made automatically with the images in there. (The same with sounds and music: drag a sound file into the Rules from the desktop; it'll ask if you want it as sound or music, then make the appropriate behavior for you with the file there; also drag a sound or music from the Sounds well, yet again the appropriate behavior will be automatically made).

No need for cut and paste, although it's annoying, as other members' have said, that alt-drag doesn't work, but in that case, just drag another copy out of the image well.

    Hi!!

This afternoon I will try to restart several times, but yesterday I try it without succes... :-(

Thanks. Yes, I know this. But I need repeat same image in differents positions in same behaviour animate. So I don't need 6 differents images. For example:

    [Police1.jpg, Police2.jpg, Police3.jpg, Police4.jpg, Police3.jpg, Police2.jpg][loop, 30 fps]

    :-)

I probably "over-explained"; I tend to do that! Just drag your repeat images from the well into their positions in the Animate behavior; no need for copy and paste. Hope that sorts it for you. :-)

Yamasoto is correct :) The drag + alt to add extra copies of frames already in an animation behaviour no longer works. So if you want to use the same frame more than once you would have to have a copy with a different file name!!

Wierd... it suddenly works. Not how it used too but dragging from the Library.

It is very buggy... one minute it works the next it doesn't.

Hi Rob, fair point, although the names of the files don't show in the Animate behavior, just the number positions; unless I've misunderstood you?

Just done a small test; confirmed that alt drag doesn't work still; and another odd thing:

If you drop all files from the desktop into the Rules to make an automatic Animate behavior, then try to drag additional files from the image well, it doesn't work. But...

If you drag the images already in the image well to make the Animate behavior automatically (or drag the behavior over then add the images), then you can add more images (same images as already used if wanted) by dragging them in. Strange.

So the workaround for Dani would be to drag images into the image well first, then make the Animate behavior, either automatically or by hand. Then additional (same) images can be added to get the right sequence.

Oh! Thanks! I was able to successfully drag :-D
Thanks you very mach. It's a strange solution, but is fine.

I hope they fix this bug in next update. Meanwhile ... this is solution.
