New Idea For Releasing Multiple Versions of a Game - Feel free to contribute

Anyone play around with the idea of releasing their game which is optimized for newer iOS devices like the iPhone 4 (takes up more memory)

AND

an "ultra" version of their game which is easier on memory and optimized for older iOS devices and iPod touches? Could this be a valid work around to games which are memory intensive?

Any ideas or thoughts welcome. Feel free to share thoughts and contribute to this discussion.
