I am thinking about making an online class about how to make very nice images/animation in adobe illustrator (maybe photoshop after a few classes).

I am also thinking about making another one for GS coding. - I am not as good as the sous chefs but I definitely think I will be of assistance to new members. I will answer questions and show you step by step, how to make a great game.

I think the classes will be free but if they aren't it would probably be because of fees to help me make up the money spent to make the class. I will not be making any money in the process.

Here is a sample of the type of images I will teach you how to make (Images of my own):

- Main Character from my game Food Frenzy - (about 200 downloads in the first 3 weeks)

- Character from another game.

If you are interested in any of the classes, just email hapiapps@gmail.com with which classes your interested in. So like illustrator, photoshop, or gs. Classes will probably be on weekends.

I have had a few members interested. Just so everyone knows, the first meetings will probably be on either Saturday, Sunday, or both. This weekend, the classes will most likely start.

    Classes Teach

    -Adobe Illustrator

-Adobe Photoshop (maybe depending on how many members)

    - GS Coding - You will learn to make a full game and will receive all of the templates.

    And my email is hapiapps[at]gmail[dot]com

No offense, hman... but your samples look like you need to learn a lot about art yourself. Consistency in style, outlines and colours could use a bit of improving... Teaching others how to do art requires knowing how to correct mistakes and avoid them in the first place.

A good self esteme is one thing but being humble and able to see the flaws in your own work goes a long way to improving your skills...

I may not be the best, but at least I am taking the time to teach people how to make reasonable looking art. This isn't perfect, but, it helps crap apps look a little less like crap ...

hman360... sorry... but I have to disagree.. Semi-crappy is still crap... no matter how you turn it...

The designs you have posted show mistakes that could be easily fixed but the lack of those fixes imho shows your inability to see and correct them. If you teach others it's about seeing and correcting their mistakes. I did give classes in watercolours and painting to kids and one-on-one classes in oil-painting to adults. It takes a different mindset to be able to see what's going wrong with a design in order to explain how to correct it.

Teaching game art to users of this forum (which has a rather young audience with a mostly technical/ game coding/ game playing background) would require a different approach than just making them doodle in Photoshop. Constructing figures from simple shapes that the users can reproduce and alter to match their skills and needs seems more helpful than a freehand dragon with a gradient fill. Starting with basic shapes - from a simple smiley to shading to complexer shapes - would be a good approach.

From your designs I would estimate your age at around the 16year-mark... and even though this sounds hard but I do think you simply lack the experience and understanding to teach game art properly.

I'm sorry you feel that way, so I have simply decided to end this class except for those who have already contacted me. I was trying to be nice, and I put in the hours and am working for free, but it seems that you think that I have no idea what I'm doing. For those who already emailed me, the classes will continue. I do believe that these classes are beneficial, but since you guys think that they are not, then I will not allow any more enrollment. Even Peach Pellen from the Corona staff enrolled and like my images.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. How about you try to teach if you know what you're doing?

Sous Chefs may close this thread.

Sprite attacks been giving away and making tons of free samples and images for users lately. So dont talk about someoen you dont know, k thanks.

Have to agree with everyone, it was a nice jesture but if your gonna teach someone you gotta teach them right, or else your just gonna set them back. Like everyone i seee the errors in the samples. Some parts have stroke some dont, the gradeint is off and a eyesore, no proper shading, ect. Thanks again for trying to be nice.

    Ill close this for you
