How to make personal splashscreen?

I know you add a pic then some sounds and all that junk. But my question how do you...

1. How do you put it on a timer to then switch to the next scene?

2. Can you make transitions or how?

have your timer after how ever many seconds
-change scene

And you can make a fade out transition by haveing a black actor cover the whole scene and interpolate its alpha to 1(its alpha should be set at 0) before you change the scene
