    No problem at all... get a box of crayons and a pile of paper - even my 3 year old nephew could handle that... it doesn't get any easier... put it on a scanner and voila...

    As far as making good graphics... Sorry, mate... it's not the software - it's the user... There are guys out there doing phantastic art with MSPaint... and even on the ipad/ iphone you can create top notch art with apps like sketchbook...

    You might want to try out graphicsgal or promotion for pixelart, inkscape for vectors and there is no real easy tool in the 3D section that I could think off...

    Check out Gimp - It's by far the best free software I've used, although the "making good graphics" part will come with experience and practice. http://www.gimp.org/

    I would suggest;
    Sketchbook pro ,
    Or gimp;
    Up until about two weeks ago i was in the same situation as you and didn't know what to use,
    But no I've gotten pretty good at sketch book pro,
    I also use sketchbook pro and adobe ideas with my iPad and a stylus!

    Hi, I've been using pixen (as far as I can tell you have to compile it yourself) and Paintbrush to do a majority of my work. Both are free and easy to use.

    https://github.com/philippec/Pixen

    I'll also add, I'm not an artist, but I'm getting the job done.

    GIMP is really nice once you get to know. Also try Inkscape, also really nice. GIMP is like Photoshop, and Inkscape is like Illustrator. So they aren't the same...
