HELP!!! High score is not working as in the template.

Hi All,
I copied the high score logic from one game game template to my game and it doesn't work as it does in the template.
I've put the high score logic in the high score board area and the load scores in the opening splash screen. What happens is that when i play my game and then go to the high score board, the score is registered.
When i go back to the main menu and click on the leader board again, however, to go back to the leader board, the score repeats itself for the next score. this continues each time i go out of the leader board and come back to the leader board.
In the template the score registers once at the top and doesn't repeat as in my game when you go in and out of the leader board area.
Any idea why this is happening?
