Countdown Timer Help on Device

I have successfully created a countdown timer. I have an attribute...

Start 5000

Every 0.2 seconds
Start -1

It works wonderfully with tshirtbooth's tutorial on scoring with custom fonts. Everything looks great! However, it doesn't work on the device. So..I'm guessing there's a better way to create a countdown timer. Can anyone provide some help? I'd appreciate it!

Does anyone know of an issue with the Viewer as far as the timer attribute is concerned? I have a great looking timer that is working very well (followed tshirtbooth's video). It works great in gamesalad but does not run on the device. Any thoughts?

I think it maybe the code or a problem with your viewer,
this has happened me a couple of times before,

Thanks LeonardDeveloper! I don't usually get a lot of responses. Actually, every timer seems to have an issue. On one scene I merely have the behavior timer...after 2 seconds...change scene. Unfortunately, even that is not working in the viewer. Would you recommend deleting the viewer and reinstalling it? I think that's what I'll try. I can't imagine that the little behavior would have a problem...must be viewer.

Merged your topics. Please do not create multiple topics on the same subject. I do not have these issues so more than likely your code may be messed up.

GameSalad has a contact form for reporting issues like this if you are having no luck still after reinstalling.

If you have not already make sure you have the latest version of the viewer and creator.

    Thanks

Sorry...I originally thought the problem was the timer...then I thought it was the viewer. That is why I made 2 posts. I do understand why it may appear to be the code (and still could be), but all I did was add the timer behavior after 2 seconds...change scene. It is the first scene, so there are no other rules associated with it. I have both updated versions and have uninstalled the previous viewer...but will once again reinstall the viewer.

Yes...and I have tried it without. Thinking there is a chance it is my code, I have looked up timers and used the different ones created in GS to see if other games work in the viewer. Those that have the behavior..timer...after__ seconds...do something... do not work in my viewer. The rest of my game works fine...it just freezes up on the timer...as do the other "games" I get from GS. That is why I think it is the viewer, although admittedly, I do not know that for sure. I have used timers in other games using my previous viewer before...

    So an iPod Touch 4?

    Hmmmm...

I was thinking you might have a first or second gen iPod Touch that couldn't handle the .2 second increments for some reason.

Here's an idea - in your behaviour, change the 'every .2 seconds' to 'every 1 second'. See if that works at all...

yep...sadly, I just tried it and it doesn't work. I just made another simple 2 scene project. It has one actor that has a timer...after 2 seconds..change scene. This doesn't work on the device either.

Ok - well, I think it's time you took pics of your 'code' and we can see exactly what you've done, just to be sure!

The above is just a simple example of what I have. I included it instead of the game code because even this simple 2-scene, 1 actor project does not work on the device. Again, the entire major project works fine on GS and the device...except the timer.

You are using the expression editor to input the time right? If I remember correctly, you have to click in the e and enter the number and then hit enter, you can't just type it in there.

Thanks Jon...I got excited there for a minute...I deleted the timers and tried it again, this time entering the time in the expression editor, but still doesn't work on the device...but works flawlessly on GS...any other ideas? The skeleton of the entire game is done...just need to work on levels, but I don't want to step too far ahead if this doesn't work. My scoring is also based on the timer and it doesn't work either.
