Almost...
what I did do was make it to the second (and last) stage of a 15,000 dollar video contest along with 5 other people.

Now that my video has made it to the second stage, my task is to get the companies logo (that the video was for) as high as possible. I have to get footage of their logo (which i can print off) as many feet into the air as possible. The only rule is i cant take footage of it inside a plain, but any other airborne stunts are allowed.

So basically, I'm asking for your guys help. Can you help me think of an idea to get the logo as high as possible and be able to film it?

My ideas consist of:
-skydiving with the printed logo with a go-pro camera to capture footage.
-Going in a hot air balloon.

I know this is kind of irrelevant to GameSalad, but hey its in the miscellaneous section, right? And i'll end up putting some of the money towards advertising my first game when it finally comes out ;)

Weather balloon + goPro or other camera rig.

Find a set of stars that spell out the logo if you connect them, hard to beat lightyears distance.

wow why didn't i think of that! Lol i don't think they'd allow the stars thing (though it would be cool) but i could attach the logo to the balloon.

Just searched up weather balloon camera and found this:

Seems do-able, but with only 8 days (not including the 2 hours left of today), i'd be in a huge rush to set it up!

It might be really difficult to recover a ballon and/or control it. There is also the issue of thermal insulation you will have to deal with as the batteries will freeze and cease up. You might also have to make sure it is well away from aircraft lanes or you might get in serious trouble. If you knew a pilot it might be way to get a shot from a plane or a cheap flight in a commercial aircraft would get you pretty high and above the clouds. It's going to be tough to get higher than anyone else. Someone at a paragliding club might also help.

If it's not entirely about height you could very easily and pretty cheaply use a kite. This would also take some setting up as it would look cool to have the logo on the kite and fix the camera in a position so the logo and landscape below were both visible. You could go as high as possible into mountains and fly the kite from there. Again I would check for laws and flight paths. There are lots of vids and 'how tos' on the net for kite cams.

    good luck with it. kip

p.s. if you need a huge logo visible from a long distance you could try a long exposure of on a big torch drawing it out. Not sure if this would be possible with it attached to kite, but it would be an interesting problem to solve if you could manage it. Perhaps one of those guys who does fancy team kite flying could draw out the shape in the air....
