device time question

Hi guys, I am struggling trying to figure this out.
How can I interpolate the alpha of an image so it will slowly fading out during the day? something like alpha is 1 at 8am and alpha is 0 at 8pm? Is that possible? Thanks so much.

    Basically I am trying to understand the clock cycle, I am changing only the hour attribute but when is 1pm the result I get is for 1 am. thanks.
