getting ready to test on iPhone - first time

So I'm pretty happy with everything right now and I want to get the game onto my iPhone. I'm registered with Apple and I've just now gone to the developer site to download the SDK and Xcode. I noticed that the SDK is for 3.1.3 and my iPhone is running 3.1.2. Will I have to upgrade my phone in order to test my GS game once I've completed the download and the rest of the steps?
