Jittery playback - camera control + constrain

I only know of the one method to constrain an actor to the main actor, and then control the camera so that you get the 1/3 position onscreen with the main actor. Does anybody know of another method to achieve the same thing?

Tenrdrmer, if you see this, I think you had another method of doing this if I remember correctly. Could you elaborate for me? I'd appreciate the help. If anybody has another method, I'd really appreciate the info.

My problem is with this game Im working on, that when I do the old method, the playback is jittery and jumpy, and damn near causes seizures. Okay maybe not that bad, but it's unacceptable stuttering. It's not the framerate, and otherwise the game is smooth, and when I take the control off of the constrained actor, and put it in the main actor, everything is fine. But having the main actor in the middle of the screen doesn't really give the user enough time to react to the obstacles that come up.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have a very similar problem... The camera movement has become jittery in 9.8 (and updates) when using 'constrain to' for camera control. And yup... the rest is running smoothly at at a similar frame rate but there seems to be some calc problems that were not here before. I may be not quite doing the same control as you are as I am doing quite a strange thing with the camera, but the results and methods are. So like you I am looking to find a method to smooth things and will report back as soon/if I can find a workaround

    This is happening to me too. It looks terrible and choppy when my actor who is controlling the camera moves around in the scene. Loaded up the same code to the last version of GS and it worked fine :-/

    Cool. At least I know I'm not the only one. And constrain actor/control camera worked for me as well with the last version of GameSalad.

    Darren, if you have a fix, that would be awesome if you could share it with us.
