I ask this because yesterday i spend like 8 hours sitting down and one side by my back hurts a lot, i wonder if some of you get tired or hurt or do you do some kind of exersice during this time, or maybe can it be my chair? Any tips how to work many hours but without getting my back to hurt

I work for 3 hours, then I do something else, more active for about 30-40 minutes.
Sitting down all day isn't good for you.

I work 10-12 hours a day in the chair, but I've been doing it for 13 years. And I have a Chuck Norris Total Gym, so it's good practice to get up once in a while, and do some sort of exercise. Otherwise, you will have a body by Apple, and it just gets worse the more you do it.

It used to bother me after only about an hour sitting in a chair, but I can do it for hours on end now, and I have major back problems. I switched careers 13 years ago because of my back issues. I have 7 ruptured discs in my back and neck. So i go the extra mile, and get the expensive-ish desk chairs with lots of support, and lumbar adjustment controls, and it makes a huge difference in my comfort, and ability to sit here and get things done.

If you're going to keep doing that, a good chair is a wise investment, and don't sit with anything in your pockets, especially like a wallet, or a big set of keys, etc...

I work 12-14 hours full time and after that spending 3-4 hours on my other project. I allready face this problem. There's several possibilities 1st Chair, 2nd How you Seat

    Solution:
Step 1: up after 1-2 hours and walk for water or washroom.

Step 2: "Algorithm" its steps solving perticular problem. Google it and find out yourself.

10-12 hours a day with a an hour break of cardio or basketball...

I went from a job where I was running my tail off to sitting on my a$$ all day.

Exercise is not an option anymore! :) Neither is eating junk food!

@SlickZero: sorry to hear about your back problems, that sucks :(

I work 8 hours a day at a computer, then come home and try for another 4 hours of an evening.

I opted for a cheaper £50 leather covered swivel chair and after one year of gamesaladding and illustrating the leather has worn right through and I'm now sitting on the sponge that you shouldn't be able to see.

I should cover it with something but it's kind of a cool visual trophy for how long I've spent working at my desk.

somewhere between 8 and 16 hrs... with no back problems (which I had before) while sitting in a Mirra chair. About the same price as an ipad but probably ten time the lifespan. Its the same design as the Aeron but half the price. (p.s. some places will give you a decent student discount without checking up on you...). At a rough calc it has cost me 2p and hour to sit in without the tax deduction. happy happy joy joy...

Stretch during the day, try to sit properly in your chair or use a heating pad while you sit to ease the pain or maybe an icy-hot patch. Some people who have desk jobs sit on those exercise balls. Not sure if that would be better or worse for your back.

I only work 4ish hours a night after my son goes to bed. I would love to be able to work more.

2-3 hours, not everyday (my sisters are always trying to get on the Mac) Eventually I'll get a laptop, but that will be a couple of years away. Oh well.
