Publish to iPhone made local?

Is it not possible to add the publish to iPhone mode made local?
It would mean people on 0.7.0 could still publish. To check if user subscription is still valid, just perform authentication on gs startup.

    I doubt it, I think that would require a lot of extra work and configuration. Having to support all those different machines, OS versions, GS versions and xcode versions would be crazy.

    You'll just have to embrace .8 :) It's not that bad, 0.8.0 and 0.8.1 gave it a bad rap, 0.8.2 is fine to work with, and much faster than 0.7.0 when on a device, it's really worth going to.

    The problem mulcahy is that imagine you have 50+ games already published and a new version comes out that breaks compatibility on 50+ games! Some of which you haven't worked on in years. Now you have to go waste time forward porting all your games, whereas if you could select the version of GS to publish against then you could upgrade your games when you are ready, or never.

    The existing system is broken for long term development. Eventually all your creations WILL be incompatible with the latest version of GS. Binary version locking is the only sane solution.

    good point ORBZ,

    It would be nice to have an option to select which version to output too, even if it was only a version or two back.
