Hi,
I've looked all over the forums, but I can't seem to find the right answer to the problem I am having so hopefully one of you can help.

My game runs smooth at 60 fps however when I added in sounds when ever a sound is played at any point in the scene it causes the fps to basically halt and the entire game experiences a quick pause. I've tried .wav and .ogg sound file formats, any suggestions?

    Hey there,

Have a play sound behavior playing whatever sounds are causing the lag at the start of the game with a volume of 0. That will load the sound in so it doesnt have to load when you want it to play later on and should stop the freezing.

I tried that, but I may have missed a few. So I will try it again and see if it fixes the issue. Thanks for responding John!

Hey John I tried that, however the fps pause (lag) still occurs. It seems to happen more deeply if 2 sounds are playing at the same time. I wonder why this is happening.

I am also having this problem and I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it. It's not a sound loading issue because it happens continuously every time a sound is played, no matter how many times you play it.

I only recently started having this issue, but that's also because I only recently upgraded my GS to the latest version. Anyone else having this problem? It's a big one for me now.

    Thanks for any ideas.

Bumping for the morning since as usual I posted fairly late at night. Anyone seen this issue? I would think it would be more widespread. Are there certain file types that are known to be more efficient in this situation? Thanks very much for any help.
