Hi guys, do you think eventually you will be able to build the games for windows as it is a more popular OS? like a .exe file?

Its possable, but i dont think so anytime soon.
If you want to build a game for Windows use Game maker:
    http://www.yoyogames.com/make
Its really easy to use. :)

I don't think that making a windows version of GScreator makes much sense as you need Xcode for the iphone app provisioning, but I really wish people using windows could play my games on the web or as exe files.

I agree, maybe for the web player, but no need to be able to make games on it.

Mac only creator please. However, I want my games to run on everything.

No not a new creator just when you publish it says...

    -Web
    -iPhone
    -Mac
    -Windows

Doesn't it work on safari for windows though?

Yes, being able to publish to any platform would be cool...

Also as long as you made that list may as well add xbox360 to it :)

    Lol, that would be awesome!

    for an arcade DLC.

I've wondered what ever happened to the facebook plan. It was mentioned in a very early GamaSalad video.

Personally, I'm not interested in web games, just iPhone, but I can see how having the ability would be a big advantage for those who are doing web games.

It would be GREAT to have plug-ins for Firefox, for Mac and PC both.
(That way my friends & family who don't have Macs or iPhones could play my games. too. ^_^)

Export to .exe would be a bonus, but it's not very important to me right now.

I abhor the thought of GS Creator on Windows.

It would be great to actually create .exe games. It would make games very easy to distribute.

Gamesalad does not currently work on windows.

I agree not a lot of us like windows. But it just increases our target audience. But exporting for windows defiantly should not be GameSalads priority.

    :)

This is my first mac and while i will say that i really dont use my windows computer anymore
i havent noticed anything better about a mac

From a "windows guy" point of view who is by no means a snob towards either one.

After a couple months it (mac) has still has gotten slower and the hard drive was fragged all to hell.
Which are my main gripes about windows
(Lol at Apple for saying 10.6 defrags itself)

That being said i dont get the whole one is better endless debate

They both seem to work with apple having one advantage only.
-It runs GS so i will continue to be a Mac guy i guess

    Personally i think

    A. windows GS creator pointless since you still need xcode
    B. windows Web viewer pointless since the webgames are pretty broken anyways
Its mosyly demos and half finished stuff which tells me GS knows its mostly a developer
tool. People come here for one reason and its not to play web games. They googled "make iphone games" and came across GS

My 2 cents since this subject popped up again

I know I am in the minority on this by a long shot, but I actually have stuck with GS because they have claimed all along that the web pluggin will be expanded to let windows users play our games. I have started a science curriculum business that sells a multimedia human body text book that has science songs, and you guessed it - scientifically accurate web games. So right now I have been telling customers and potential customers that the games will be playable on a windows computer soon. I hope GS doesn't make a liar out of me!

There are already TONS of other choices for game making on Windows! It would waste a lot of the GS devs time having to support cross platform issues - they have so much to deal with as it is...

Keep it in the Mac family ;-)

as Safari (last I heard) runs on PCs ... web games should be playable on those windows computers that have Safari.

And since this is a subject that was beat to death yesterday, in a new thread and not a year old thread. This ones closed too. Please do not bump year old threads unless they offer some sort of value to the community.

    Thanks
