I was told about this app the other day, it is like a moog synthesizer. This will be great for game music. The description says the price is going up to 29.99 after 30 days. Go download!! :)

It's very cool. Not quite a minimoog as it stays in tune.

I hope it's useful to everyone, I know moog is a good brand.

Yeah I wondered if it was really going to go up that high, but from what I have been told from my music guy, it is worth the $30. Time will tell.

With a total outlay of about 30 quid I now have a fairlight series 2, a korg system and moog on my ipad. That would have cost 30,000 twenty years ago. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Whats the Fairlight like? I worked with one in the early 80s but £35 for the 'pro' version seems a tad high now for some reason :)
  • old_kipperold_kipper Member Posts: 1,420
The Fairlight is pretty good but it seems primitive by today's standards. Page R is so basic but quite usable. The old sound are good and very authentic. It does seem a bit steep by app prices but I worked in a studio that had a Fairlight and was never allowed to do anything apart from insert the disks out in the machine room. There is joke when you start the app up, that it brings up the back of the unit and if you don't get the 110/240 volt setting correct smoke rises over the screen and you have to restart it...

The next thing to come along will be a synclavier for 42 quid or a PPG for a fiver.

YES, if you like synths at all, or even just cool sounds, get it NOW.

This is really well made. I am not sure how I will use it with the type of music I write but .99 is a steal for this.

I bought it and love it! Besides YouTube vids they have very good documentation on their site.
If you have a midi keyboard you can hook it up or just use the iPad controls. You have great control over creating sounds.
I'm sure I'll use thus at some point for music but it's actually great for creating sound effects for games, which is what I'll use it for initially.
Once I figure out how to record or export my sounds that is.
Seriously this is a no brainer for a dollar!
Funny hearing about the Fairlights and Moogs. When I worked with Thomas Dolby in 1989 they were typical components in his rig. Great stuff!
