Time gap: "Update" vs "Release Date"?

Hey guys-
I've noticed something as I browse through the iTunes store from time to time -- In the sub-categories (Action, Simulation, etc), if you list by "Release Date," it sometimes will list apps with a 1.0+ version (such as a "1.1" version, a "2.4" version, etc etc).
I've done two updates to my apps and my updates were never re-listed as *new* (or "bumped" as we say here), but my updates were less than a month after the initial 1.0 release. (I was thinking that less than a month may be Apple's self-defense "Too Soon!" clause) Does anyone know how much time has to pass before an update gets a "bump" in the "Release Date" list?
Thanks!
