Does GS not support dithered PNGs?

Just curious, as I've been doing some compressing with imagealpha. Got 1 or 2 images that are approx. 1.1mb before using imagealpha. I'm using the median cut, dithered option which takes the images down to approx. 350kb. After I import them into GS, right click and show contents, they've ballooned back up to 1mb (slightly smaller). Seems GS is adding info. back into the images that imagealpha removed?

Anyone else noticed similar?

Cheers

gs compresses images for you. So it might just be reversing what youve done and doing its own compressing.

i remember a post by a head chef that said your own compressing is pointless cause gs compresses for you.

edit: photics also confirmed in a bunch of threads that compressing is useless because gamesalad does it for you. Ill link the threads.

@JohnPapiomitis I just want to say thank you for your contribution to the forum. I always pop into questions thinking maybe I will be able to answer something and then inevitably I pop right back out because I can't. But you answer so many questions, I just want to say thank you for that.
