Hi Guys,

Decided to make Running Wild FREE until my birthday on the 9th November.

RW never took off despite 40 5 star reviews and my team spending 3 months solid on it.

A big mistake was releasing just before xmas (it didn't get N&N) and the app store closed for 2 weeks leaving it dead in the water.

Marketed RW hard but had little to no response and to date it has made only £250.

Anyway please download tell us what you think and HF.

If you collect enough bonus stars there's a secret platform game to unlock:)

    Very nice work!
    I would download it right away but my iPod Touch is the 1st gen. so I think it wont work :(

    The app store is a funny old beast, you see some utter crap making lots of money and decent games like this not even being recognised!

    I always build games using a 2nd gen and try my hardest to make them run as smooth as possible but not got a 1st gen so not sure :)

    I love this game. Anyone who doesn't have it should pick it up and play it. It's one of the few iPhone games that I have played all the way through. I love the combination of controlling the main character and controlling the other elements within the game world as well.

    Soon I might get a new iPod Touch, if not an iPhone 4 :)
    Anyways, if it is going to be an iPod Touch I guess I should wait for the new one to come out?
    Hasn't the actual one been in the market for quite a long time?

    I was planning on releasing my game around Christmas, but now that I have seen Tshirts post maybe I wont? Why shouldn't I? Something going on that I don't know about?

    I think Xmas is a bad time because the big boys with mass marketing teams will get their games featured and it's a lot harder for the little guys to get noticed.

    I would release either 2-3 weeks before xmas or wait until after xmas myself.

    Don't know if you have a any longterm plans but If you released this a few weeks before the appstore closes then I can imagine it getting in the top 25 free which would certainly raise awareness of your other games :)

    I was aiming for an early December release, but now unsure.

    What happens with the app store over Christmas? How does it shut down???

    Is early December ok to release or not, and if not when in the new year would people recommend?

    This is my first year developing / using the app store so I have no idea what this is all about!

    I really wouldn't consider it at all. The app store closes two weeks into december so no rankings change etc. All the big publishers e.g. EA put everything at tier 1 and get high in the ranks before the shut down and then receive lots of media attention from the review websites so makes it hard for indies to succeed! Hope that helps :)

    I'll have to think this through then. I'm so close to completion and hate the idea of just sitting on it until the new year.

    Anyone know when the app store returns to normal? mid-jan?

    I think its just till the end of december ish not sure of exact dates think it closes for two weeks. New year isn't a bad time as you miss the rush but people still have itunes vouchers :)

    This Xmas will be an even bigger joke with the flood of apps in the store now. :(

    Loved this game too, I totally expected it to get N&N, it's a great little puzzle/platformer, with a charming main character :)

    I don't know why I didn't think of just download it, rest the App in my laptop, and then sync it right away when I get the correct iPod Touch.

    So, right now it's waiting in my laptop :D
