It was nice to read in the release notes for 0.9.85 that you fixed the OpenURL behavior.
Well, it was fixed really badly.
I already compiled a bug report but it's better to explain it to everyone:
- mailto links:
Before 0.9.8: mailto:support@markontheiron would open the Mail app with the correct to field compiled
With 0.9.8: mailto:support@markontheiron would open the Safari app using what's after the @ as the web address
With 0.9.85: mailto:support@markontheiron would open the Mail app with the correct to field compiled --> Good that was fixed
- advanced mailto links:
Before 0.9.8: mailto:support@markontheiron.com?Subject=Report%20for%20Musician%27s%20Little%20Helper&Body=Hi%2C would open the Mail app with the correct to, subject and body fields compiled
With 0.9.8: mailto:support@markontheiron.com?Subject=Report%20for%20Musician%27s%20Little%20Helper&Body=Hi%2C would open the Safari app using what's after the @ as the web address
With 0.9.85: mailto:support@markontheiron mailto:support@markontheiron.com?Subject=Report%20for%20Musician%27s%20Little%20Helper&Body=Hi%2C would open the Safari app using what's after the @ as the web address --> Bad that's still not fixed!
- iTunes links for apps:
Before 0.9.8: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hackalloon-hd/id377702115?mt=8 would directly open the App Store app
With 0.9.8: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hackalloon-hd/id377702115?mt=8 would open the inapt browser do some redirects and then open the App Store App
With 0.9.85: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hackalloon-hd/id377702115?mt=8 would directly open the App Store app --> Good that was fixed
- iTunes links for developer page:
Before 0.9.8: itms-apps://itunes.com/apps/MarcoFerraguti would directly open the App STore app in the page that lists all my games
With 0.9.8: itms-apps://itunes.com/apps/MarcoFerraguti would open the inapp browser do some redirects and then open the App Store App
With 0.9.85: itunes.com/apps/MarcoFerraguti now that I can only use http:// it first open Safari, then iTunes App and then the App Store app --> Bad that's still not fixed
- iTunes links for reviews:
Before 0.9.8: itms-apps://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?type=Purple+Software&id=347229183 would directly open the App Store app in the review page of one app
With 0.9.8: itms-apps://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?type=Purple+Software&id=347229183 would open the inapt browser and eventually get there after some redirects
With 0.9.85: ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?type=Purple+Software&id=347229183 now that I can only use http:// it first open the iTunes App and then the App Store app --> Bad that's still not fixed
Please the next time you think how to fix something try to think a little more about user experience. Maybe having some more developers test new builds can give you more inputs on what works and what not.
Every time you release a new build there's something that needs to be fixed, that could be easily avoided by making test a little more the builds by the people who actually use them.
Regards
