I dont beleive that lil discussion was about istencyl. The discussion was about extending pro accounts due to poor progression and downtime due to GSs poor updates and patches. And from what I can tell in that discussion. Someone used istencyl as a benchmark in the discussion. IMO I see no reason for any sous chef policing in that discussion. Other than you felt like its a discussion GS didnt want to hear or see or get spread around. If that wasnt the place to discuss "istencyl" then there must have been a other forum for you to transfer that conversation to. But no... you closed it.

Your job is to make sure the forums are being done in a respectable manner and to reduce the amount of topic rooms by making sure the same topic isnt being discussed in multile areas. Not shut down a topic and put duc tape over the mouths of those creating topics you feel GS wouldnt like. I dont see discussion getting chopped just because " Unity " is mentioned. And dont respond back showing me a similar topic link. You didnt say you were moving it. You just slammed it closed.

Actualy regarding that topic, there was only one comment about gamedivisionuk's problems and the rest were mostly about stencil. The game salad forums is not a pace to talk about Istencyl, Yes Jon could had just deleted the other posts, but it was better and a good idea just to close the topic. If you really do have a problem with A particular sous, you can contact GS about that, but i would recommend that you do NOT criticize, him on the focus as he was only doing his job and contributing to the community,

no, a few extra posts were about misunderstanding each other between 2 posters. And that doesnt matter anyway. You dont close someones discussion because they are talking about another developing tool anyway. There was no legit reason for that topic to be closed. None. If that one had merit.. then 50% of forums should be shut down as well.

And no, what he did .. was not his job.

Ive had 4 of my topics, closed
2 for reasons that i am un-aware of, but i don't mind that much,
So i do see your point

I don't think, with respect, that your opinion of what his 'job' is makes a blind bit of difference.

It's your opinion, and you're free to express it. But the forum rules, and what it is, are not shaped in your image, but rather the one that GS chooses.

Each of you as a Sous Chef has a somewhat personal idea of what and how you feel GS wants this forum administrated. If not there wouldn't be 3 of you disagreeing with one of you.

Maybe if we knew exactly what you dont want us to say or what topics you dont want us to bring up. Then we would be able to make your " jobs " a lil easier for you.

That 'lil discussion' started out as a discussion on pro memberships which is fine, but the final 3 posts were about iStencyl, including a youtube video showing how it works, and a testimony about someone switching to it. iStencyl has their own forums, this is not the place to discuss it.

It had nothing to do with closing a discussion that GS wouldn't like. There are plenty of posts / topics that complain / criticize their methods. You were not around during GS Direct, but there was an outright revolt.

That is why I closed it. Someone went in afterwards and deleted the 3 iStencyl posts and made me look like an ass, but there was just cause for closing. Period.

Yeah, I'm back for good now. I got ill and also had a kid, so crazy, crazy times for me the let couple of months.
