Hi everyone,

I am creating a side scrolling game and I need some advice in how to create an efficient parallax scrolling, should I have the scene's with to 1440 by 320, should I use layers etc..

I also need the scene to scroll automatically horizontal and the speed increasing as the scene goes on.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks kind sir, I've tried that template, what I need is the scene behind to scroll automatically much like the jetpack joyride.

    Thanks

It will do, it'll follow your actor when control camera is on it. Then you can just have him moving.

Right, lets take your template and remove the actor (the ball,) how can I have scene to scroll across without any left and right arrow keys. I want the scene to scroll automatically.

Once I can achieve this, I can then allow my actor to dodge obstacles etc...

    Thanks a bunch.

Having a similar dilemma. Putting my hero in Aces wonderful Parallax is a tad troublesome for me because my hero moves by interacting with other actors, some that scroll and some that don't. Still, it's the best, most versatile Parallax I've come across, I'm sure we can figure it out. :)

I wish someone would just explain the basic concept.

@firstdan You can create an invisible actor which moves constantly and controls the camera. I hope that helps!
