Dear All,
Im relatively new to GS, (4 Months to the forum) (12 months, without forum)
Ive been working on apps and templates just to get me started, for a while, and then started working on four apps which should be coming out in a couple of weeks if i can get my PUBLISHING PROBLEM
fixed, now i did keep those four apps a little hush hush, you could say i did a steve jobs on it! (*Funny*) But I'm going to devote my hours to a new longterm project now called -------- Jello Tank-------- ======[= ]

So with all the time that I've got, until my publishing problem gets fixed, I'm devoting myself to this project,
Im gonna upload some in images later, (At the moment the art is from mynameisace's parallax template, but don't worry he said i could use it, I'm only using it for kicking off my project in any case)

Features: Jello tank will be a parallax scroller, working for android, iPhone, and free on html 5, and of course, the gs arcade!,

Im having some trouble getting the jello to come directly out of his, gun how do i fix this?? (he's not a gif, i was thinking of just particles or spawning a different actor?? does anyone have any ideas???? HELP???

ART ART ART ART, Art is all round the forums, now I'm not such a good artist myself, although i may try, i really want to design this in pixelmator/ or inkscape. Vector is
deffinately my style for this, Does anyone have any vector tutorials that would work for pixelmator/inscape/gimp on vector drawing. Or does anyone want to do vector art for me??????

    It would be cool to see some gameplay. Maybe a video?

    If you plan on publishing this, be aware that the word Jell-O" and "Jello" are most likely copyrighted by the Kraft Foods company.

    Thanks in Ireland we say jelly, so i d probably call it jelly then!!

    As for the video,
    im thrashing the arrows and starting again with multitouch (kindly suggested by TSB) so i won't have the game play working properly for a while, but i am going to post a video of me just using the arrow keys on my mac!!

    Try to keep the look constant. Small things make a different so I would make sure that things like the sky stays the same colour, don't add shading to clouds in one scene if your not having them in another, the art style of the original template is shape without line and very simple so don't bring in objects that don't match if you are going with that style, a font like VAG or Frankfurter might work as they reflect the curves and style of the artwork, and have a go at making a simple tank that is built from shapes with similar curves and weight to the rest of the art, and keep all elements in tones that are readable against each other. The pink L, the O and K in your lettering on your image are too close to the background colour. I would also not stretch the tank in a single direction. Always keep it proportioned. All these things add up and will hopefully give you a more pro look.

    I am highly appreciative and very glad, for all your constructive criticism,
    With regards to the art-work this art is kindle on a beta basis as I'm across between, with not using it or expanding on it, if i do it won't be just based on shapes, as you said, i do not plan to change the style or color for that matter, so no need to worry about that! :). AS for the font, It is a jello font that have worked on for a while now, just to fit the title i have tried the fonts you suggested, but feel personally that the jello font looks better.
    Regarding the spacing of the letters, Yes this is an issue that i also have found myself, i shall be fixing this tonight.
    I also need to keep it a bit more proportioned, so i will try and fix that as well!! :). I have just made the tank gif not stretch as much, but have added an animation for the wheels an dmade it more jello like!!,

    I don't want to have an arrow based GUI, on my app. I would prefer Multi-Touch, But then that brings the predicament of how and which style of Multi-Touch i should apply to my game,
    I did consider touch the right side of the screen to go right and touch the left to go left, but i want it to be albe to touch the screen and shoot, so how do you suggest i implement Multi-Touch in this game??

    Here is the video you guys requested, (The following video is only an first draft and will probably not had ethe arrow GUI in it, The video is made testing on GS creator)

    Does it really need to be about jelly? It seems like it could be restrictive, but if you really want to go for a jelly theme you could think about all the graphics being jelly like and wobbling around- a bit like the 'roobarb and custard' cartoon.

    I suppose, i could trace the jelly an dust make it a parallax shooter, but really wanted to do a jelly thememed app, as yes i do have all the gifs wobbling and shaking, (watch the tank in the video) thanks for the advice,

    I did watch the tank video, but if you are going for a jelly theme I think you need everything wobbling. Why jelly anyway?

    I dunno, I get inspired, and just felt in the mood today. No everything wobbling even the , in my opinion just wouldn't work I'm just going for jelly style enemies and a jelly tank

    I have an idea for the multi-touch.

    What if you used the accelerometer (tilting of the device) to move the tank. That would free up the screen to be used for shooting.

    I also agree that having the theme being Jello is going to make things harder than they need to be. It could instead be techy (I know it's not a word-it should be) or something.

    Im not sure if anyones said this yet, I haven't read all the posts, the tank image is not the same style of graphics as everything else. You tank is black and white, almost kind of looks like doodle graphics, where as everything else is vector, cartoon-feel graphics. This is just one mans opinion though, and if you want to keep the tank, its your call.

    I agree with you fully, but I think some of the art is temporary. Still kind of think the jelly thing is silly.

    Yes, Im ditching the jelly idea now, i think, and as for the tank I've mentioned somewhere in this topic, can't find it now :), But the tank is temporary,
