Unlocking Level Help

You know how Cut the Rope has stages that are unlocked by the amount of stars you get in total for that stage. For my game i wanted to institute a similar star based unlock able system but the problem is I have no idea how to do it. Another thing I'm having trouble with is creating a locked level select feature
