Any way to control "Play Sound's" volume by an attribute or such?

edited November -1 in Working with GS (Mac)
I want volume control in my options, because I don't want to use the iPhone's volume control.

I want to control music and sounds separately and I don't want an ON/OFF kind of thing.

I want to make an attribute, which I can control by a slide bar and I want that every sound volume takes this as a basic option by setting the volume in the "Play Sound" behaviour.

I don't know if it is clear, what I want to tell, but if yes, please give me some advice, how I can do this...

It is probably impossible, but I have to try :-)

PS:
What does "positional sound" and "Velocity Shift" mean?

I didn't find any info.

EDIT:
OOps, I think, I found it. I didn't recognize that I have an expression editor by the volume :-)

Tips can come anyway :-)

EDIT:
My new problem: How do I convert the mouse position into a number?

Let say I have the slider, which constrains the mouse position. One end should be 0 and the other end should be 1. And everything in between :-P

How do I convert those positions into 0 and 1?

My Volume Slider DEMO shows exactly how to do this:

    Hope this helps!

Yeah, you can adjust the "play sound" volume and pitch with an attribute level.

The music play level is adjustable in the device -> music area of GS...cannot recall if it is expression based like "play sound" but I think it may be based on recollection.

Positional sound plays sound through the right or left speaker based on the position of the actor playing the sound on the screen.

Velocity shift I have not played with but I assume it changes the pitch with the speed of the actor to give a "zipping along" quality to the sound. Kind of like a slower car driving by you going "mmmmmmmmmmmmm" and a speeding car buzzing by going "zzzzzrrrrrrrrmmmmmmm".

    Hey, thanks guys for reply!

I didn't see you in the big editing session :-)

    @firemaplegames:

    How to use those game-tutorials?
    I don't get it....

If I download the .game it just plays in safari, but I can't open it in GS

you can open them directly from the desktop version of GS creator. Just look under the "Shared Games" tab.

Do a search for "volume", "slider" or "demo"

When you use "download Project" from Safari, it downloads a .game file - which is unusable.

Change the extension from .game to .zip. (you don't need to compress it, just retype it)

The double-click on the .zip file and the proper .gameproj file will pop out.

It's very ridiculous, but it works.
