It means the sound will play until it completes. If you have it unchecked, the sound can be interrupted, without playing all the way through.
For example, say you have a attribute to play a sound when the character is touching the ground when it walks, and then no sound when it jumps in the air. If you have the "Run to Completion" checked, when you jumped in the air, the walking sound would continue playing until it reached the end. If it was unchecked, it would stop playing, and be more realistic to the players action.
