Hello All,

What are the worst actions or behaviors to add to a GS game that will deplete battery time on and iphone?

Thanks

Just off the top of my head in no specific order:

    Constrain
    Interpolate
    Particle
    Animate
    Control Camera ?

Also make sure to avoid these as much as possible because they usually slow your gamesalad game down a lot if you use to many.

Thanks, I have a feeling it may be my animation that is draining up battery time.

Probably. Try cutting out every other frame.

I dont think there is anything GameSalad side that burns extra battery. Call me crazy. just do see that any specific Behavior is going to be bad for Battery. I'd say you just have a device/battery issue.

im pretty sure the more ram/cpu used, the more battery it will drain. sooo.... ram/cpu intensive behaviors would likely drain battery faster.

how much faster it drains the battery may be negligible, i couldnt say that i know for sure

Maybe so but CPU intensive is going to hurt your frame rate So if you are using so much CPU its killing your battery the games frame rate is probably horrendous. I just don't see the Battery concern here. I have never experienced battery issues and I have put together some concepts before that were very CPU heavy.

My app is timer driven. I had an animation playing with it (looped), only 15 frames at 10 per second.

This timer counts down to 60 minutes. The battery was almost drained before it reached 0.

I took animation out and now the problem is timer doe not work when screen sleeps.

    Any suggestion?

Sounds like you are trying to make an app GameSalad cannot do. If you run anything for 60min solid its prob gonna drain all but brand new batteries. And GameSalad does not have access to keep running in its sleep. Although you might be able to get creative with the device time attributes and somehow continue your timer when it wakes back up.

I did post a message about a month ago about gs apps running in background. I got a respond that all apps run in background. So I guess it doesn't because when I switch to another app my clock pauses.

Would it be possible if I wrote an attribute to keep the time going if I switched apps?

    Thanks
