Publishing free games

I am making a game, yes i am new, anyways I was thinking ahead of when i am going to publish it. I don't want to pay the $99 fee, i Googled it and some people said you need the $99 fee to publish games and some said getting the free account will do for publishing free games. I don't care if I make money or not, I just want it on the app store. So the question is can i publish free games to the app store with the apple free developer account, I want to know before I make an account, sometimes things you find on Google are false so hopefully some of you sous chefs or whatever they call it like tshirtbooth can help me.

    The free developer account gets you access to the sdk and limited developer tools. You need to pay $99 to put your app on the app store. Even if you want to release a free app you must pay the fee. But the first step is to sign up for the developer program then when you are ready pay the $99 for publishing rights. I hope this helps.
