Updating Game and Save / Loads

I know that in GS Viewer it resets when you update the game but what happens to the real app when you update it? I'm asking because I'd like to release my game and then add more levels later but it will really piss the player off if he/she has to start from the beginning again.

Saves are fine. They start where they left off.
