which is better two apps or one app ?

i have an iPhone/iPod game on the app store and i just finished the iPad version, so which is better from any perspectives, to join the iPad version with the originals and make 1 game or i call it whatever for iPad and make it separate ?

    somebody written here couples days ago about this issue but im not able to fine it, and he said that by selecting ipad while publishing from GS it will sign the binary and if u tried to upload it under the same name apple will release that this is an iPad binary to the same app.

    it didn't make sense much but i was just double checking
