marketing question

Alright.... say I have just created a game and it would be my first release onto the Apple markets. I have £500 to spend on advertising it. How would I be best going about it to reach out to as many people as I can with two different methods?

I don't know I personally would recommend advertising on other similar apps through iAd. I've advertised on my own apps through adMob and when I have done that I've noticed spikes in my advertised apps sales.

    I agree with TSB.

If you are going to spend any money on advertising, write a press release and release it through PRMAC for $20. Or, you can even send GamesPress for free.

There is a lot of advertising and marketing you can do for free. Social networking, seo, video, etc. I would explore those avenues first before I spend any money.

The popular AppAdvice gives Snap Trap 4/5 Stars! "A new puzzle game that is both challenging and fun." - App Advice

"Overall, it’s a well designed and attractive action/puzzler that feels intuitive to play and doesn’t look like loads of other iOS games." - Arcade Life

This is what I would have said personally, but this is what I was given as a college assignment.

The deal is, I failed to hand in any work for my research unit last semester. We had to do some game research covering different areas and as a class, we found out what areas we would look into and divided them up as a group. I got lumped with marketing techniques and couldn't do the work.

I was allowed to advance into this semester as long as I would get the work finished. But the assignment got rewritten to confuse me even more, with the scenario I've given above. And if I don't get this handed in this semester? I think I'm getting kicked off the course -_-
