I notice that most games with shooting, like a man shooting can't shoot in all directions unless there is a gun actor seperate (Which just looks silly in my opinion)

How would I make said Actor with gun animate arms and torso in all desired directions?

Cheers.

Maybe Change self image to x when angle is x? per point of direction? Might to be hard on the software.

I tried it, it doesn't really work, but it does the required task

Its all in the artwork, has nothing to do with the rules besides flipping. You have to make a lot of art and assign them according to the position in which they are used.

That is really hard to do with GameSalad, it would be easier with coding, hope GameSalad adds it someday.

hi ozboybrian, its been a long time. i still remember you teaching me how to use gamesalad 3 years ago. About this shoot in the desire directions. I have few thoughts how to do this.

8 directional D-pad: make 8 images for each directions. You could make 5 images if you use flip horizontal. And then make 8 attributes to tell the actor face 8 directions.

Joystick: make an image holding a gun (body is separated) then constrain its rotation to the joystick's rotation. I don't like this personally. because you need to make few actors as your fingers to collide with joysticks.

Left&Right with slider: use slider to control the rotation. this one you also need an image holding a gun with separated body.

    Hope that help!

Hey @OscarsCoding and @Clock. Great advice for someone new coming across this problem, but this thread is about 4 years old. I'm going to go ahead and close it. Thanks for your input, guys!
