Catch 22? Uploading to iTunes Connect to get Leader boards?

Hi everyone,

My understanding is that to make a leaderboard for a game, the game has to be uploaded to itunes connect.. however itunes connect (never done this before) is asking questions like when to make it available, etc.. which sounds like i have to submit this for app approval and i don't want to start that process till i know i have my leader boards and other GS Pro features all in place and working.. and I can't get those leaderboard unique ID's till i have the app in iTunes Connect (as I understand it)

Just wondering what the proper submission procedure is for a game. Maybe it just asks these questions but later on i get some kind of final "ok submit this for approval". I'm just afraid I might start something in motion i'm not ready for.

Thanks
Caleb

If you want GameCenter leader boards then you have to setup the app in iTunes connect. Set the release date for like 2 weeks time. Once you finish setting up you can then create your leader boards in iTunes connect. You then incorporate it into your game in GameSalad. You then publish your build and zip (compress it up). Then go back into iTunes Connect, go into your app and select 'ready to upload'. Once you have set that, you need to use 'Application Loader' on your Mac that downloads with Xcode and submit your zipped file through that.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

The release date you set when you create the app in itunes connect wont matter until after your app is approved. and it the review time goes past the set date it will just go live automatically.

ah ok that's great to know.. yea made me kinda nervous that it would somehow launch the app in its current (still using free version with GS logo, etc)
