GameSalad this isn't acceptable ... Time for Facts!

Ok GameSalad enough is enough now, its time for some answers!

What is the minimum for all areas of GameSalad to run acceptable?
What the heck is the deal with publishing size?

You can't keep changing things that *used* to work in previous versions and not telling the community. There has been a load of complaints about the creator previewer now stuttering like mad, yet the same game on the same machine using an older version of GameSalad doesn't;

The general reply we have for this is resources when nothing is running and there is still plenty of CPU and RAM available. I think its about time you tell us what the minimum acceptable specs are for every part of GameSalad to function as it should.

Next, the other area of change without mention .. Publishing size. has released games of around 300mb and so has @Photics with 'Bot'. Upon trying and wasting time trying to publish, support has now told that you can no longer publish over 150mb! If we always could before, why not now? Where is the official mention of this informing your users? So not only has time being wasted trying to publish, how about the time that has gone into all those images and the actual coding involved in making that 300mb game!

You just can't go changing things in business that were always available and working and then not tell your users! Jeez what is happening around here recently?

    Beefy , all I can say is +1 to that...
    The reason I dont post much complains is cause I'm pretty shocked about the latest changes in everything GS was,
    I have projects in the making and 4 games to update, and i just can't at the moment..
    Not to mention I though by now all my games will be on the android market. And some of them with IAP not to mention gamecenter achievements ! ( the achievements part I really can't understand ... I mean.. Really , how can we have gamecenter scores but not achievements ?! It's the same! Only the graphical part on apple's end is different )
    I still hope ( somewhere deep in my heart) that GS is making some major changes under the hood that causes all this madness and will give results in the long run, and this is a transfer period to a better engine, but I don't know maybe I'm just being naive..
    We do need some answers about what is going on, our businesses rely on this !

    Cheers
    Roy.

    So you can't make games over 150MB anymore? That certainly puts a limit to developer's imagination.

    I understand it's tough for the GS team - I mean, to create a program where you can make games without coding is already a huge achievement (and they've already achieved this). But I also believe users (especially ones who have a PRO acc) should be notified of every single change GS makes, so this way the developer isn't wasting their time with certain things.

    I think all of this will be fixed in time, but I also believe it will be quite a while till GS becomes flawless, or at least close to it.

    Apparently so ... would be nice to know right?

    They have to start informing us of fundamental changes and what said limits are within GS!

    As POM said, its our business relying on this!

    Ok, I don't complain that much where I use too be, but I don't like gamesalad puts everything so secret and don't tell anyway what is going on. For example, somebody should be telling us what is goin on with 98.7 and what bugs are fixed and the estimate release time...

    I don't see why they can't do these things

    Yeh i never used to complain really but there are some strange things going on without proper word, i think the 2 questions on here are acceptable and things that should have official answers to them!

    @SSS - Thanks. Especially as you near the end of beta, facts like these have to be stated.

    @ SSS

    I mean there are bugs in 98.7, and we should get an answer on what is going on with fixing those bugs

    I think it's fair to say that there has been little in terms of supposed secrecy - every question has been answered or is being investigated appropriately for the past few releases.

    I agree, but I think gs has to much secrecy

    just my opinion

    Side note. That games looks really cool! : )
  • beefy_clyrobeefy_clyro Member Posts: 5,394
    @FabledApps - Thanks. Its actually a game that has already been published and released on the appstore. I had to use this though as my current games won't let me open in 0.9.82. If you'd like to see more of the games cool features as you go through the game, you can see it here;

    I've done some tests (I tried to publish two versions of my other game):
    GameProject files:
    1. 140 MB
    2. 160 MB
    In GS versions from 0.9.82 to the newest one. Each project was copied, and save in the right GS version.
    I tried to publish each project three times in every GS version.

    It is impossible to publish 160 MB project in any GS version. Each try brings an error message, that the file is corrupted or in wrong format.
    It is possible to publish 140 MB project in every GS version. Each try was successful.

    I asked someone on the forums what they think about iStencyl and my post got deleted in like 5 minutes. Wtf is wrong with this forum? Stop this communism guys, I wasn't trying to advertise anything, I just asked an opinion: if someone used it and how they feel. Where's my right to make comments and talk freely?!?! Who's erasing these posts?
    This kind of behaviour makes me think I should pay the $(incorrect pricing) for iStencyl when it can do this:
    (link redacted)
    So bye bye GS and shame on you!

    @lookout

    I fully agree we can talk about others engine

    @gs

    having competitors is not a bad thing, if there is only one engine in a whole world, it is not going to improve

    @lookout i didnt delete your post or even see the post. But i think i can shed some light for you

    Also id like to point out that i think competition for gamesalad is a good thing as it will keep them on there toes and bring us new goodies.

    You asked about "istecnyl" in particular. Thats still in beta and anyone that has access to it has signed there nda and cant discuss it. Next is the fact You joined 30 minutes ago and the first thing you do is post about istencyl.Then your second post is you posting a link to a stecyl tutorial and saying your leaving gamesalad. It seems like all your trying to do is troll.

    @SSS, thanks for clarifying this. Now how about minimum specs of a machine for all areas of GS to run smoothly?
