Thats almost exactly $5 a day. Not too shabby, if it stays at this average ill make $1,825 after a year.... hoping it stays a pretty steady stream of purchases.

    seems to just have lucky and unlucky days :P

    but my other app that is similar to it just released and sold 6 first day. The second release is a holiday style one of basically the same functionality so hoping it gets stronger this month, then it can die off idc.

    raise your game by a dollar and see if sales maintain. if it doesn't drop it back down.
    (thats assuming that your game is pretty well made.) it's pretty standard business strategy.

    its actually a productivity/entertainment app.
    give instructions on how to utilize some iphone features.
    so theres alot of apps like that so i think raising it to two dollars would just get it passed over for others.

    right, and if you know that's the case, the app you make should be unique and worth the dollar more =) just letting you in on my little secret. i was able to push up the price 3-4x more and still have it sell like hot cake in a competitive area because i spend some time testing how much people are willing to pay. big game companies hire analysis to figure out the most profitable price point. cheaper isn't always better.

    i'm assuming that your app is top notch =) if it's not this won't work. the process is just to gauge what the perceived value of your app/game is. and if it does go through. 1.99 is gonna be very different from .99... but i don't want to get into too much... don't want everyone to switch their price and get no sale lol.. it'll only work for games/app that has high perceived value, or if you are able to create value.

    no need to post your game/app =) you have enough competition already no need to make anymore pop out from your friendly forum. the ocean is plenty big, showing your fishing spot is not good for you or your friends unless you are just doing it for fun.

    or as the gold miner says, my claim is up/down the river over there.

    plus its a utility, people here are almost 100% not likely to need it.
    but regular non techies find it very helpfull
    and even if i get no sales for a week, oh well its just 35 bucks. good for an experiment

    i changed it to $1.99 and have actually increased my daily sales by a few, not revenue, but actual sales, so thats about doubles the revenue.

    Great idea to just test how pricing would make my app stand out, i feel that many people see similar apps, and although most will go for the 99 cent app, some, enough for me to be happy, see the 1.99 and think... "hmm, must be better, it will be worth it"

    so making my game MORE expensive actually made it more attractive to buyers.

    i know it works otherwise i wouldn't tell you to do so. i openly share it because if more people raise their price the average price would go up and benefit everyone.
    the reason is psychological. but i won't go into much more details =).

    it's a known business practice, not actually to test much much you can sell it but to gauge how much your product is worth in the consumer's mind. i hope GS is not following this thread otherwise the next thing we know they'll be raising the membership price =) but we are safe, since competition is getting crazy.

    you can keep pushing the price if your sales maintain for another few days. until the price goes up to a point that you actually see dramatic drop for a few days. gas price do this to us everyday without us even knowing, and we are thinking.. that's life.

    under $10-20 is peanuts.. wait until you hit $100+ a day, then you'll find yourself swimming with the sharks and they'll do everything they can to get you down to where you were swimming again... i mean EVERYTHING... so be warned. =) but try to enjoy it..

    watch your ranking closely too.. with more sales it'll go up quickly.. and every step you get closer to the top the money increases exponentially. try to maintain your momentum

    i do this quite a lot. brain works differently. i guess. after a few second a new thought pops up.
