don't go pro because of iAd, but do go pro because of you can use HTML and custom splash screen to build your brand.

well iam planning to go pro within the next month or so but i have iads in my apps from xcode (free)and i generate 50-130 bucks a day.Lately its been about 100 bucks a day. When i first started last march in xcode i learned to put the ads close to something they will be hitting.Otherwise you have to wait and see if people actaully hit them on their own.But if you have a catchy app then they will get hit.But i think going pro is worth it 100% and will make your money back. And you also get to develop for android so thats a plus.

for sure custom splash screen is a must, but just to have an idea overall ... does it really generate money at the time being !

well just learn some basics in xcode. Its actually quite easy.but yeah make it free with ads is great. You can place ads in the middle if you wanted but i have it down below.Thats why iam gonna go pro which is for iads and android.Making a game in xcode takes longer and more complex than gamesalad.I paid a guy for lessons.BUt i have a game with joystick controls and a fire button(close to ad) so thats how iad gets hit more often. So going pro is def worth it.also you can put a free version with ads and a paid version so that will help you and you can have both instead of free with no ads.

iAds is pretty much next to useless as a pro feature. Unless you are getting a silly amount of downloads.
The most I have ever made in a day is about £3 (roughly $5)

I average around £30-£50 a month with it (on about 4 free apps)

Fill rates seem little better over Christmas, but on the whole, are pretty poor.

I guess some of you arent as lucky with iAd.I actually make more on ads than I do sales.like I mentioned try to make a way so they get hit easily otherwise you have to wait for people to actually click them.....@TSB..don't put your game as a full free version.put half of the levels or so with iAd that way youll leave them wanting more.I purchased your zombie drop game a while back and I liked it.if you had it free with about 15 levels I for sure would of upgraded to full version.always leave them wanting more otherwise they won't come back for more.

iAds did not work for me, because for som reason most of my downloads took place in China, and for some reason the fill rate there was abysmal. It was ok in the US, but like TSB said, the other sales went down. So all in all, i was a flop and I don't use iAds anymore.
I purely use the pro version for the splash screen, gamecenter and url integration.

I guess it depends on your app.
I have one LITE that goes well, just a couple of dollars a week but I'm not complaining.
The payed version did not go down in sales, actually I think I get downloads from people liking the LITE version.

Numbers: 2000 downloads/mnth since release last month. Revenue: $17.39
So with little effort I might get my pro membership back.
It took my about an hour to build the LITE version from the paid.
I just added iAds and had it open with my link page with a 3 seconds delay in it.
