Grid and moving an actor to another actor

Hi Pepole
This is my first post and something is telling me it won't be the last. I am planning a grid like game where I need to to select a square and the actor goes to that square.
What I have done is actually made 1 actor pr square because I guessed that made sense. So if I have a 4x4 grid I've made 16 actors. I'm thinking clicking one of the actors should move the character (main actor) to that actor.

Am I thinking wrong, is there a better way? I saw a grid template on youtube, but I don't know if that will work. Cost money...
If this is a good way, what kind of rule do I make here?

Hope you can answer:-)

    Some more info:

    * The game has a playing field like chess with squares. All players can jump in a certain amount of squares (should be changeable). How do we set up a proper grid? The playing field is not the whole screen. We want to highlight a square and then hit a button that says go, then the character should got to that specific square just as in chess.
Should we create actors for each square and say if you hit B6 actor and then go (button), then character will go on top that square (actor)?
    * We also need to restrict the character to go to certain squares, because of obstacles/other characters or the fact that it is to far. What is the best way to do this? It also need to be able to go around. In our mind we would like the characters to only go left/right or up/down so basically the character cannot cross a square from bottom left to top right (hope you understand).

All the help you can give are much appreciated.
