Hello... :)
I don't have any experience in game creation and have minimal knowledge of coding, just some ideas in my head that I'd love to bring to life! Discovered this 'gamesalad' lark today while googling, it looks fun! Does anyone know where I can watch some clips/demos of some really good games that have been created with this program? I'd love to see how much it's really capable of, before I get designing.
Nice to meet you all :) Happy creating!!

Hey @SuperEmily - Welcome aboard :) Most 2D games can be created with GameSalad and more and more great projects are coming out of GS almost daily, so would be hard to pick just a few to show you. If you ever need any help with anything, just give me a shout or add me on Skype (bandellerker) and I'll be happy to help.

Hi Emily, welcome :). I'm glad you found Gamesalad, I stumbled on it about a year and a half ago as well. Gs is a brilliant tool which can be used to produce some non-game apps; to interactive storybooks as well as games. As Ace said, there are quite a few titles from Gamesalad so it's hard to pick. I think most people on here would agree Gamesmold has produced some outstanding games among many others - search spooky hoofs on appstore, it was banner featured on mac appstore on release.

The newly updated cookbook would be a good place to start and the community here are very helpful if you have other questions. Good luck

Welcome to GameSalad Emily! I'm sure you will come to find that GS is a very helpful and powerful tool when used correctly. To get you started, I too recommend you check out the Cookbook here on the GameSalad website, along with the Official GameSalad Cookbook YouTube Channel for some great videos on everything from basic tutorials to advanced concepts. Of course the forums are a fantastic place to get answers as well! GS boasts one of the best online communities that's ready to lend a hand 24/7.

As far as great apps made with GameSalad, it's hard to narrow it down to just a few, but here it goes:

    • The Secret of Grisly Manor - Fire Maple Games
    • Bumps - Utopian Games
    • Tiny Balls - Tshirtbooth (known as Stacy Bennett on the App Store)
    • Penguin Glide - Tenrdrmer (known as Appsolute Entertainment on the App Store)
    • Spooky Hoofs - GamesMold
    • iRound Up - me (known as PDL Productions on the App Store) :D

I'm sure I am leaving off several popular titles, and maybe adding some not so popular ones to the list :) but you get the idea.

Good luck on your first project!

    - Alex
