Accelerometer position

Is the accelerometer's position a constant like the x is always the x and y is always the y and doesn't change when set in portrait or landscape?

    I had solved this issue, but any ideas on how to "sync" an accelerometer with the location at the start so it responds on movements based off of where they have their phone placed?

    Right now I tried making a setter at the start where it is supposed to set up where the phone started out as a reference point and it determines its movements based on Sync X+0.1
