unstable

edited November -1 in Working with GS (Mac)
as I add more and more images, GS seems to get more and more unstable....actors disappear, slower to open a scene and just slower in general...I restart the app more often...I was wondering what other people are experiencing....I have about 100 images, I am thinking that isnt too crazy...I would assume most people are using that if not much more....any thoughts..

Simalar problems, except I thought it was due to complex rules and many of them.

i dont actually mind too much when i am working on a project... just need to close and reopen every so often...
the problem comes when i try to follow 2 or more projects at the same time (mostly when i try to use demos in my own games). 2 projects at the same time block gs completely. after 2 mins gs is unusable.

i found a solution to this in case anyone was having the same problem:
open gs normally with 1 project.
the open gs in terminal and you can use this gs for the other game project.

if you dont know how to open gs in terminal you can also do this:
right click gs-show package contents-contents- macOS- and double click gamesalad.

    :)

its not the number of images you have though, its the number of actors.
try adding 1000 images to the project and it will work fine. try adding 100 actors and see how unstable it gets.

Hmm. Well I have almost 100 actors. I sure hope this is fixed soon. I would assume that most people have 100 or more for their games. No?

I'll have about 60 actors in mine. Will be adding about 25 more images shortly when I get back to my Mac. So I will have around 45-60 images I'm guessing. No issues so far. If I have issues when I add the 25, I'll post back to this thread but I think most of us think it is indeed the actor count.

I have about 100 actors that are used in over 9 scenes... The issues I am getting are:
    *blank outs (all actors disappear)
    *slow downs
    *lots of color pinwheels.
and I had a scene disappear for some reason.

Hmmm, the most would be 12.

Have to say that I've experienced pinwheeling and blank outs when developing. Worst is when I open up to look at the Rules and Behaviors and it has to "build" them on the screen, and expand and collapse. All these things make for a real morale killer when I'm trying to have fun creating a game in GameSalad. IMO, resolving this should be first priority before any new features are added.
