Animation Question - How to fix it

If I press SPACEBAR , the actor use sword swinging motion
I have 8 swinging sword.png files

I noticed two problems for this

1. I need to hold X button until the action finish
(I expected once I press button, the actor slash)

2. there are 8 png files, so action is too slow
how can I change it faster?

I'm not sure for 1. but for 2:

change the fps to a higher number

This works - make sure "run to competition" is on for each frame, then you can simply hit X and remove your finger - stick the 'at rest' image you want to return to after the sword swipe into the "otherwise" section.
