Hey everyone,

I've reached the point where I'm happy with the FPS in my scenes, now the only problem is the load time between them :(
Does anyone have any tricks for getting better load time between scenes other then having less actors per scene and unchecking preload art work.
any help appreciated

Thanks

@ashtmj ... I don't know if it fits your gameplay but in a project I had one scene end and load a quick next scene which had the congratulations for passing the level and a little bit of info on what they might expect to have to do in teh next scene .. by having that middle scene start loading the heavy scene right away it provided a perfect delay for the gamer to read and make the wait seem shorter .. I also put 'auto loading next level" so the gamer wouldn't be looking to click anything to proceed

    Like simo103 said, distract them.

@simo103 I think I'm going to use that method.

Thanks for all the tips guys! @TSB: I was thinking about that, I was afraid of all the work required to make one actor spawn a whole level and making sure it's layered how I want it. but it may come to that.. I just read and have yet to try, loading in all actors blank(no image) then changing a image as the player gets near, my computer is at the shop, but I'll try that first once I get it back, other wise I'll have to use your trick...Also, loading info when a actor gets near, got me thinking, do you think I could make one large scene the equivalent of say 5 screens, and a integer that says if integer =1 load images/rules for "screen" 1, etc.. or would having that many actors even if they are inviable and have no rules just crash the game regardless?

@tshirtbooth Yeah, I noticed this when I had my intro "movie" scene running before I started adding spawn and timer rules. The majority of the actors are animated. When I had them all running statically on the scene background, it would take 1 to 2 seconds for the scene to load. Once I placed my actors on timed "script", things have been running smoothly.
