Thanks! I am on my iPad right now so it won't let me download it. Can you post it on the forums just so I can see it now?

Hey ars914 even though there are people who are willing to make some art for you, I'd really recommend learning to use photo editing software. You can get Photoshop CS5 free for 30 days with the trial. Or try out Pixelmator. And Gimp is completely free, albeit kind of confusing.

If you're looking for a good free program to make art, I'd recommend Inkscape.

You're going to want to learn to make art because constantly asking for it will become a pain. This is assuming you don't know how to and aren't just in a situation where you currently are unable to.

If you have any quick questions I'll be more than happy to help, but I'm no expert.

Thanks everyone! And I have been trying just I'm not very good! For my app I want all the artwork to look professional so I am trying to learn but still aren't that good! Right now I need buttons, I think that would be a good place to start! I need them for my game, so whats the best way for me to make a button. I'm not sure if you go on google and use the button generater or if you acually make them! I downloaded inkscape and have just been playing around with it. Again I'm not very good.

There are a lot of good Inkscape tutorials here:

I'd recommend photoshop/gimp/pixelmator for buttons. i've heard Art Text is good for easily making buttons and logos, but I haven't really used it. Here's a link:

Is there an easy way to make a pause button?
  • MotherHooseMotherHoose Member Posts: 2,456
Art Text 2 is phenomenal for making buttons, titles, vectoring Text, icons, and textures

@ars914 on your Mac in most all text receptive applications (including Safari) at the top of your screen is the menuBar click Edit and at the bottom of the list is Special Characters…

ars914"Is there an easy way to make a pause button?"

No, there is no easy way, pause buttons are notoriously difficult, it's the two upright stokes that make up the pause symbol, they are very hard to get perfectly upright, most people (myself included) can get close but never as perfect as the pause buttons you see from professional pause button generating software like PauseButtonMakerPro™ or ButtonFactory™.

Here is a recent attempt of mine, feel free to use it, but if you look closely the pause symbol is slightly uneven.

Yeah, those two bars aren't exactly upright.

"Here is my attempt in Photoshop. Six layers, and ten layer styles. About 3 minutes."

    That's rubbish, mine's much better.

Hm? I thought I deleted that and the link was removed because the image wasn't showing up and I thought I broke the forums so I changed it and I didn't mean to be mean and I couldn't delete the post and yours is most definitely better and my button was rubbish. Wait - what can you guys see in that last post? Apparently I changed it, why are you psychic ?

"yours is most definitely better and my button was rubbish"

I knew you would come to your senses, my pause button, although not as good as the some of the pause button greats, is still unusually excellent.

    c'mon guys be nice!

@ars914 image editing won't just become easy. Search up a lot of tutorials for one of the programs recommended and start doing them. You'll go through a lot of frustration and hours of work but it'll be worth it in the end.

    Haha nice, bluechicks! ;D
    I'm a bit of a skyrim fan myself :)

In all seriousness though, ars914, you may want to consider downloading a free graphics program like inkscape. A little training with a program like that can get you a long way :)
