Sorry gamesalad I am jumping ship over to stencyl. It is a reasonable price and it has all the features gamesalad needs so goodbye everyone. If anybody comes with me put in a comment, I won't come back because gamesalad is always 5 steps behind. Adios!

um. jumping from one half build ship to another.. hum.. not such a good idea. i'll remain a spectator... at least GS seems like a boat that's more "finished" (relatively).. but who knows, challengers can sometimes turn the tide. competition is good.. i'll pick my boat when they are both finished.

Wow, that seems drastic. They both have their assets and faults, but why would you just announce that? Kinda rude... Plus, what is the harm in doing both? @ultima I agree about jumping from one ship to another, whether it's half built or not. Either way, I think there is more to this story than just reasonable price. GS is obviously putting work into building a better everything. Yes it's a little expensive for my taste, being a full time student I don't have the luxury of the pro price, but there are great options available here for instance I don't have to PAY to upload to the app store (besides dev fees), over there you have to be a paid member. Over here you CAN publish to the Droid... they are still working on that over on Stencyl. All in all, like I said they both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I see it like this... "you are presented with two pots... they are both filled with money... you have the option to keep both or just pick one..." Dude... you left one of your pots... I'll take that.

I must admit I have been having a play around with it over the past couple of hours.
I kind of like how you can get a little more under the hood than you can with GS, but anyone expecting as easy ride as GameSalad makes gives you, I think will be pretty shocked by the differences in working practices.
It IS still much much easier than doing the coding, but it's laid out more with the coder in mind rather than the designer. (imo)

Both softwares have their pros and their cons as they are at the mo.

I sense an interesting few months ahead. Competition is good for us as punters ;)

i looked at stencyl these days. it has more features and functions. If it released a new version that you can publish your games to andriod. It will be more competitive for GS. If you were a student, you could get it cheaper at the price of $99. So GS you might need to work hard on your next update, or lower your price. just a suggestion!

Funny, I have been using Torque and straight up Xcode/objective c and I'm re-boarding the GS ship because of the simplicity and rapid path to publish. Each SDK has it's advantages understandably, however HTML5 is a big deal these days.

GS certainly is not behind with HTML5 support now is it? ;p

That looks more like a Jerry Maguire exit "who's coming with me?" or "Who's coming with me man?" for those of you who prefer Half baked. Care to shed lite on what features were lacking for your project/s?

@RP yes that was a Jerry McGuire (or Half baked) exit... Jsut peeped that! LOL.

looked at them all … even built some things in Xcode

Love GS because I am a very visual-orientated person and constantly like to see how things look!

about the only program that could drag me away from GS is Shiva3D … but they don't have the Mac build of the editor done yet.
