Hi all,
In Photoshop CS5, I am currently saving my images with a resolution of 72 dots per inch, is this correct? There is no setting for pixels per inch?
Thanks
Happy New Year!!

you also can > Tools > Adjust Size … to Scale/Resize and/or change dpi.
for our purposes, at this time, dpi and ppi are interchangeable in definition … (one bit for pixel)
In GS use only 72dpi

You'll want to save the file as a png-24, with or without transparency, depending on your image.

People conflate dpi and ppi, as words they're used interchangeably these days, but strictly speaking you want to be generating images at 72 pixels per inch (ppi) - and when you hear someone refer to dpi (certainly in relation to Gamesalad) then assume they mean ppi.
I have been using Photoshop since around 1991/1992 (showing my age !!) - in every version I've ever used the Image Size panel have always said 'pixels/inch' [verbatim] - still does to this day ! It's never said 'dots/inch', dpi or DPI, never ever ever !
: )
Or simply uncheck the Resample Image box and then enter 72 pixels/inch in the Resolution field.
Lol, I will be watching you.
