Hi, at the risk of boring some of you... ;-) I'm going to be putting up one final video later on (in two to three hours); this will be from the start to the plus version of the first puzzle. (The plus version puts the pieces at random of 4 angles, so you have to make them the right way up for them to slot into the puzzle place). Few other subtle refinements, etc.

I'm also adding a nice little feature that appears at the end of each level, so check back later if you want to see what it is! (Please don't hold your breath though, it's not that exciting, but a nice addition all the same, I think).

Catch you later maybe then. :-)

OK, this is the final progress video (I know I said that twice before, but it really is...promise there won't be any more).

Details as above post; the game should be complete and ready to fire in two weeks max. now; all rules are done, just get the other levels together really...

It'll be free when it's on the app store, for about a month, I've decided; I'll keep you informed of when it can be downloaded for your iPad, thanks.

Still any more comments appreciated, thank you.

Hi, just an update for those interested: this project will be totally finished within 4 days (I said that to myself 4 days ago...); as you know things get in the way, time flies, complications and unforeseen aspects of the project, walking the dog, making cups of tea....

Another couple of days after the 4 days for final optimisation and testing then this first complete app will be off to Apple. Hoorah.

    :-)

That's really appreciated, Braydon, thanks! i'm still considering whether to use Test Flight or sending ad Hocs to the beta testers but either way, I hear I need a UDID which I guess is the same as an App ID from you. So rather than worrying about PMs, perhaps send that to contact [at] davidgriffinapps [dot] co [dot] uk , thank you. :-)

And if anyone else would like to beta test End of the Earth iPad app please send your UDID/App ID to the above email address as well, thanks; the more the merrier!

OK, Shaz ( @HoneyTribeStudios ) has kindly given me the lowdown on Test Flight and that seems the best way to go, so:

Braydon - and all others who'd like to beta test my first app - please drop me a line at contact [at] davidgriffinapps [dot] co [dot] uk so I can let you know when it's "all happening", thanks again.

    Progress update:

Hi, I've definitely learned to keep quiet about a finish date before I've finally finished a project... problems/complications can occur which weren't foreseen, as you all know with your own projects.

And so it is with finishing End of the Earth. The rules aren't particularly complex, just a lot of them (surprising perhaps for just a straightforward puzzle game). Anyhow, I didn't look forward clearly enough when I was to amend each level, each one getting more detail than the one before. And one particular problem which occurred has kept me frowning for the best part of three days; trying this, trying that, to get a particular aspect working on one level which is working just fine on the previous level.

But I've just cracked that, finally, (about half an hour ago) and I'm relieved, but kicking myself.... as I say, there's a fair bit of Rules and just one small Rule wasn't copied across from the previous level. It's obvious now but for the last 3 days it wasn't!

So to summarise, I'm on the last leg of the project but won't give a time when it'll be finished... soon though, soon...

OK, I'll stick my neck out (again) and say that it'll be ready for beta testing via TestFlight on Wednesday or Thursday, Friday at latest.... if any more are interested in be beta testing it I'd be grateful. I'll post more details nearer the time, thank you.

    Right, back onto it...

Bumped for those of you who's interested in the progress of End of the Earth.

Also, I've updated the App Creator page on my website and added another page if you'd like to take a look (still not finished tho')

What can I say, I've actually completely finished my first game/app with GameSalad Creator (23.10 UK time.). :-) :-) :-) It took the best part of a month to put together and I've been working more than 200 hours on it for certain (I've a very understanding wife).

As you can guess, I'm slightly elated as well as relieved it's all over. Being a puzzle game presented its own particular problems totally different than any other genre but I should have guessed it would... for a while, near the end, it was an uphill struggle rather than a downhill slide I expected it to be.

So End of the Earth (for the iPad) is ready for beta testing if anyone would like to help out and have a relaxing time while playing the puzzles. I'll be sorting out Test Flight tomorrow now; as Shaz & beefy told me, anyone who's interested will register their email addresses on my page there ready to test. I'll be posting a new thread tomorrow about that with a link.

In the meantime, you can email me now (or tomorrow) if you like and I can add you to the list of beta testers for End of the Earth iPad app. So if you'd like to give it a go, please email me at:

contact [at] davidgriffinapps [dot] co [dot] uk , thank you. :-)

Congrats David! :) It's great that you managed to finish your game - great feeling, isn't it? :)

Myself I don't like to have holidays between projects :) After I finish one game, I make iPad version, and start next app. I have a one year brake in my education, so there's a lot of free time :)

I thought I wasn't the only one! Now I'm getting into the swing with GSC, it'll be one after the other with me too; how long the next projects will take waits to be seen... :-)

Hi, I've come to the decision not to put this out for beta testing, mainly because there doesn't seem much interest (I know you all have your own projects to work on and haven't the time) and it's relatively straightforward gameplay anyway and I think I've caught any glitches, etc.

So thank you to those who showed interest, especially Shaz and Braydon who offered to beta test for me; as a thank you I'll give you a redeem code each when it's on the store. (Feel free to remind me if I forget!)

Hopefully next time you'll see the name End of the Earth it'll be ready to upload from the App Store...

Thank you and good morning. :-)

After beta testing the ad hoc and amending/correcting/refining, I'm really pleased that I'm ready to upload my first finished game app End of the Earth to Apple for their approval for the App Store. I hope to do that sometime today.

I've checked out the Cookbook on publishing to Apple but I'm already confused: I don't know where to find the app SKU number nor the Bundle ID when setting up the app for submission to iTunes Connect, for instance.

I guess i'd be really happy with a walkthrough video - I can't find one by TSB or anyone else; anyone know if there is one please? Hopefully it'll all click into place for me then... sorry if I'm slow today...

All coming clearer, now I'm actually submitting to iTunes Connect....

The Bundle ID is the App ID, I understand now.... still haven't found out what the SKU number is though.... hopefully I will soon. :-)

Right, I've found out: for those who are submitting an app to Apple for the first time (like I am) and don't know what the SKU number is:

SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit and the number of it you decide what it is to submit; so it's straightforward then! Onwards and upwards...
