Graphic size in GS

Hi there,
When importing my graphics to GS files get really big in size, and that affect the ending file size of my game.
so, when importing a 100-160 KB jpg file, it would be 500+KB png
What to do about that?
Thanks,
T

Hi, excellent advice from MH; a consideration though, if you replace your images in the GS program with the optimised versions, GSC seems to make them back up to their full size versions (and in some cases making the file sizes even larger than they were).
So to take advantage of the optimized versions, hold control on your GS file and choose Show Package Contents... then replace the images in the Images folder. This way GS will not change their sizes and will call them up no problem.
(Possibly the same scenario with optimised audio files as well; if anyone would like to confirm that...)

Good stuff gyroscope, I knew they crept back up . . .
(a bit like this for me . . . )
Photoshop 500kb
ImageAlpha 68kb
Gamesalad 110kb
. . . . but never thought of overriding the GS conversion process, and sticking them directly into the images folder !
One note, quit GS before dragging images directly into the file, if you don't all sorts of fun and games occur !
(and do a redo before a publish! … also delete the junk in the screenshot folder as it has no value/use in your app)
