Hey ya'll,

Have any of you gotten an email like this?

"Hello Brian,

I was wondering if you might be interested in increasing your app visibility on the app store marketplace.

Many developers have worked with me before. Along the way I've been able to gather a lot of insight into the workings of the appstore. Without a doubt a wider audience can be reached and marketed to. I will work to make sure your app reaches its maximum potential.

I offer many services concerning your app, if you are interested feel free to contact me. All of my services and contact information is available in the pdf I have supplied as an attachment.

Best Regards,
Michael S*****"

I kept his last name out of it just incase it's legit, but he can't actually prove to me the success of his product and he only emailed me cause apparently my App is on the App store (Which it shouldn't be!!!... I took it down in the first week it got published, but that's another story)

What ya reckon?

Thanks :)

You could do just about anything if you just replace the word 'App' everytime it is used. Verbose it is not, nor does it cary a speck of human sincerity.

It's the T-3000 modle desgised as marketer. They usually work in threes (the three marketeers).
Errrr...I am programed...let me maket your app...where is Sarah Connor?

I would be interested if I could get a free sample, which would lead to me paying. But otherwise it's to great a risk at this time and I do wish you all the best either way buddy.

    Well it's not.

I wrote database instead of price list in my last sentence. Happens sometimes when I overwork myself.

Either way it was a pleasure to meet you.

    Cheers,

I'm sorry but this seems like a scam.
    Best of luck.

I can guarantee more traffic, I never said your app would be a success. Although defining success is rather relative.

My Full Media Database contains 1200 contacts that are available for additional coverage and free reviews. I can give you some for free with additional services.

Not sure on which database you have, here is my latest one.

I'm allergic to giving people money that can't really show me any proof of their products success ;)

What do you mean a piece of your database?

I can give you a piece of my database for free instead.

What if you do one of the cheaper version for free, then after I see how well they work i'll pay for that and then pay for a second one?

Check out www.facebook.com/fabledapps for our upcoming games.

    Thanks.

I can accept 50 USD increments. Payment has to be via www.moneybookers.com

No problem, just give me a few days notice beforehand so that I can prepare.

I've taken it down, it wasn't supposed to be on the App store at all.

Thanks for making me aware of it though. It is an old unfinished project.
We do have some upcoming games though!

    And how much is partial?

Partial payment is fine but it has to be upfront. I'm having trouble finding your app, can you send me a link.

I'm not sure, a bit risky when I don't really have any proof of your successes.
I'd be comfortable paying provided we use your services first and once they're successful I would pay you the fee.

I was gonna say "buddy your email isn't even a business email so obviously you're full of it"
But then he would of caught on and set a business email and maybe scammed some people.
